Migrate from TikTok

Many merchants use TikTok as a key sales channel, and the TikTok (Official TikTok for Shopify App) app is often the first app they install. This official app typically includes two major areas:

  • Shop (Syncing): product + order syncing

  • Ads: ad account connection and campaign features

If you are currently using the TikTok official app to sync products and orders, and you also want to use EcomSend Feed, you may run into duplicate product listings and duplicate order syncing, which can quickly create operational confusion. To avoid this, we recommend using EcomSend Feed as your only syncing channel.

Before you start

  • Decide what you want to keep the TikTok official app for:

    • Ads only: keep it installed, but do not enable product sync.

    • Syncing: migrate syncing to EcomSend Feed.

  • Important concept:

    • The goal is to stop the TikTok official app from auto-listing products, and (optionally) deactivate products it already listed—so only EcomSend Feed manages product syncing.

Scenario A: You use TikTok for Ads only (Sync is NOT enabled)

If you are only running ads and have not turned on syncing, keep it that way. You can safely use EcomSend Feed only for syncing.

In the TikTok official app, syncing is only available to eligible merchants. If syncing is not enabled, your TikTok app pages will typically show the relevant card(s) as not set up—or they may not appear at all.

Scenario B: TikTok already synced some products, but you have NOT started selling yet

If products were listed via the TikTok official app but they haven’t generated sales/orders, you can fully switch to EcomSend Feed by doing the following:

Step 1 — Turn off auto product listing in the TikTok official app

In the TikTok for Shopify app: Go to Shop Management Open Shop Settings Find Product Syncing Turn OFF both toggles:

  • Basic Automatic Listing

  • Enhanced Automatic Listing

This prevents TikTok from automatically listing more products in the future.

Step 2 — Deactivate products that were already synced/listed

In the TikTok for Shopify app: Go to Shop Management Click Manage and sync products Go to the Synced tab Select all products, then choose Deactivate

Previously synced products become Deactivated (not visible to customers). You can now use EcomSend Feed as the only syncing channel.

Scenario C: TikTok synced products AND some products already have sales/orders data

If some products already generated sales data, you have two options depending on whether you want to keep those products live.

How to check whether products have sales data?

In TikTok Shop Seller Center (TTS): Go to Analytics Click Product analytics Review which products have performance / sales metrics

Option C1 — Full switch (Deactivate all products listed by TikTok official app)

Use this option if you want a clean reset and will re-manage everything through EcomSend Feed (Same path as Scenario B).

  1. In the TikTok official app, turn OFF:

    • Basic Automatic Listing

    • Enhanced Automatic Listing

  1. In the TikTok official app, go to: Shop Management → Product → Manage and sync products → Synced tab

    • Select all products

    • Deactivate

If a product already has orders, keeping it live is often the safest approach. However, even if you deactivate the product, its historical data will not be lost—you can still view past performance in TikTok Shop analytics.

To check it: Go to AnalyticsProduct analytics → set the product status filter to Inactive.

Option C2 — Keep products with sales data Live, deactivate only products with NO sales data

Use this option if you want to preserve the momentum/history of products that already sold.

  1. In TTS Seller Center → Analytics → Product analytics, identify products with sales data.

  2. In the TikTok official app: Shop Management → Product → Manage and sync products → Synced tab

    • Select products without sales data

    • Deactivate only those products

  3. Also turn OFF auto listing toggles (Same path as Scenario B, Step 1):

    • Basic Automatic Listing

    • Enhanced Automatic Listing

If a product already has orders, keeping it live is often the safest approach. However, even if you deactivate the product, its historical data will not be lost—you can still view past performance in TikTok Shop analytics.

To check it: Go to AnalyticsProduct analytics → set the product status filter to Inactive.

For US TikTok Shops, EcomSend Feed supports linking TikTok products to the corresponding Shopify products, so ongoing order syncing won’t be disrupted. This means US merchants can choose to deactivate all products in the TikTok official app and rely on EcomSend Feed for syncing.
