# Category templates {% hint style="info" %} If you use **other** connector apps with TikTok Shop, we recommend using **only** our app for product and order sync to **prevent duplicate syncing**. {% endhint %} ## Default Category Template **Default Template**: All products with a 'Not synced' status (both existing and new) without special configuration will be assigned to the default template. 🌻 Note: If your products need to be mapped to **different categories**, we recommend **creating multiple category templates first** to ensure accurate syncing.

### How to create the default category template **Category templates** All 'Not synced' products (existing and new) **without specific configurations** will be assigned to the default template. {% stepper %} {% step %} **Step 1** Go to the **Products** page in **EcomSend Connector** → Click **Create category template** → You'll be taken to the **Create default category template** page.

{% endstep %} {% step %} **Step 2** Select the **category** to map to TikTok Shop and fill in the **required fields** → **Save** your changes.

{% endstep %} {% step %} **Step 3** If you're sure your products **only need to map to one category**, enable the **Activate this template** setting → The system will then automatically sync all **'Not synced'** products (both existing and new) without specific configurations → Check them in TikTok Shop.

{% endstep %} {% endstepper %} ## **Create multiple category templates** If your store’s products belong to different categories, you can create multiple category templates and assign relevant products to each. This allows you to sync them all automatically with just one click.

### How to Create Multiple Category Templates {% stepper %} {% step %} #### Access the category templates page Go to the **Products** page in EcomSend Connector → Click **View category template** → Enter the **Category Templates** page.

{% endstep %} {% step %} #### Create a new template & Preview filtered products Click **Create Category Template** → Enter the **Create Category Template** page → Set **product selection rules**, **choose the category**, and **assign products** to this template → Click **Preview** to confirm the filtered products are the ones you want to sync to the selected category → Click **Save**.

{% endstep %} {% step %} #### Activate the template Enable the **Activate this template** setting → The system will then automatically sync all **matching** 'Not synced' products (existing and new) based on this template → Check the synced products in **TikTok Shop**.

{% endstep %} {% endstepper %} 🎉 Your products have been synced successfully! ## Category template details If you create category templates but choose **not to activate** it, our system will **not automatically sync** any products based on the template. The template's content will only serve as **pre-filled information** for manual syncs, which you can modify at any time.

### Select a category Whether you sync manually or automatically, you need to **select a category** to sync to TikTok Shop. To help merchants choose the right category, we’ve integrated **TikTok Shop’s AI category recommendation**. When syncing a product, the AI suggests a category based on the title and description. Of course, you can adjust the category as needed.

There are some categories that require application in TTS before you can sell on TikTok Shop. You can directly click **apply now** to apply.

### Required product attributes After selecting a category, our system will list the required and optional attributes for that category. You will need to **fill out** the **required product attributes** for that category, while the additional product info can be optionally filled in. Different categories have different required product attributes. You need to **fill them out or upload files** based on your product's details.

### Select specific products For special category templates, you can set rules to select which specific products to include. The filtered products will be synced according to the category you selected. You can click **Preview** to confirm that the filtered products are the ones you want to sync to this category.

### Shipping settings

#### Package weight If you've already set a product weight in Shopify, we recommend choosing **Sync from Shopify**. You'll also need to provide a **backup value** in case the Shopify value is empty or doesn't meet TikTok Shop requirements.\ If you prefer to set a fixed weight for your products, you can choose the **Use custom values** option and enter the appropriate value. #### Package dimensions Enter these values based on your package dimensions, as they will affect the shipping fee calculation. ### Additional product info (optional) {% hint style="warning" %} Normally, all fields in this section are optional. However, some optional fields **may become required** based on other entries you provide.
